Terms of Use

Last updated: March 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Fidelon API and TransparencyScore data. Different tiers have different requirements. If you have questions, email api@fidelon.com.

1. Citation Tier (Free)

The Citation tier is free to use with no signup or terms acceptance required. You may call Citation endpoints for any lawful purpose, including integration into AI agents, research tools, and consumer applications.

Attribution required. When displaying Fidelon scores to end users, you must include visible attribution. Acceptable formats:

  • "Source: Fidelon TransparencyScore"
  • "Powered by Fidelon"
  • A link to the advisor or firm profile on fidelon.com

Attribution is not required for internal use, analytics, or cases where scores are used as inputs to your own models without being displayed directly.

2. Developer Tier ($99/month)

By signing up for a Developer API key, you agree to these terms. The Developer tier includes full API access, SDKs, and higher rate limits.

You agree to:

  • Attribute Fidelon when displaying scores to consumers. Use "Powered by Fidelon" or "Source: Fidelon TransparencyScore" in a visible location near the displayed score.
  • Display score context. When showing a score to end users, include the score version and freshness date (both are returned in the API response).
  • Not resell raw data. You may use scores as inputs to your product, but you may not redistribute raw API responses or build a competing scoring database from Fidelon data.
  • Not build a competing scoring platform. You may not use Fidelon data as the primary basis for a competing financial advisor scoring or rating product.
  • Respect rate limits. Do not circumvent rate limits by rotating API keys or using multiple accounts.

Fidelon may suspend API keys that violate these terms. You will receive email notice before suspension except in cases of abuse.

3. Enterprise Tier (Custom)

Enterprise access requires a signed agreement. All Developer tier terms apply as a baseline, with the following additions:

  • Custom rate limits, batch access, delta feeds, and webhooks are available per your agreement.
  • Uptime SLA is defined in your service agreement (not best-effort).
  • IP allowlisting is required for all Enterprise API keys.
  • Dedicated support with a named contact at Fidelon.

Contact enterprise@fidelon.com to discuss Enterprise access.

4. Data License ($250K+/year)

The Data License tier provides bulk access to the full Fidelon TransparencyScore dataset. A separate Data License Agreement is required.

  • Score independence guarantee. Data License customers do not influence scoring methodology. Scores are calculated independently regardless of commercial relationships.
  • Data deletion on termination. Upon termination of the Data License, you must delete all Fidelon data from your systems within 30 days and certify deletion in writing.
  • All Developer and Enterprise tier terms apply as a baseline.

5. General Terms

Methodology changes. Fidelon reserves the right to modify its scoring methodology at any time. Major methodology changes will be announced in advance via the API changelog and email to Developer and Enterprise customers. Score versions are tracked so you can distinguish between methodology generations.

Availability. The Citation and Developer tiers are provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee. Enterprise customers receive an SLA defined in their service agreement. Fidelon will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.

Rate limits. Rate limits are enforced per API key (or per IP for the Citation tier). Requests exceeding your tier's limit will receive a 429 response. Repeated or intentional abuse may result in temporary or permanent access restrictions.

Data accuracy. Fidelon scores are derived from public regulatory filings (SEC, FINRA, state regulators). Fidelon does not guarantee the accuracy of underlying regulatory data. Scores are informational and should not be the sole basis for hiring or terminating a financial advisor.

Not financial advice. Fidelon is not a financial advisor, broker-dealer, or investment adviser. Fidelon scores do not constitute financial advice or endorsement of any advisor or firm.

Changes to terms. Fidelon may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to Developer and Enterprise customers. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance.
